Reporting Live From the Scene...

“…And that was sport, now we move on to a dramatic development in the case of the big bad wolf, Rich”

“Thanks Jim, it’s a cloudy day here on top of the hill outside of the Top of the Hill Court House. The media has gathered today to hear the chief of police announce of new findings in the case that can turn the verdict. I see the chief coming out now, he is being followed by Mr. Wolf and his attorney. I’d like to remind the viewers that Mr. Wolf was found guilty of multiple murders of his neighbors and was caught red handed outside of a third neighbor’s home, the victims were related. Mr. Wolf has insisted of his innocence the whole time. The chief is about to speak, let’s listen to what he has to say.”

“Good morning ladies and gentlemen of the media, this press conference has been called in order to let the people know that, sadly, due to a wrongful act by a member of the town’s police squad, an innocent wolf may have been sent to jail. It has come to my knowledge this morning that officer Piglet, a member of the force for fifteen years, took it upon himself to misplace evidence from the crime scenes and plant new ones framing Mr. Wolf.”

“Chief! Chief! How did you find this out and where is Piglet now?”

“Please let me finish. I became aware of officer Piglet’s actions this morning when I found a signed confession on my desk. It appears Piglet and the surviving pig were lovers. They had planned a way for themselves to escape freely with enough money to start a new life away from here. The three pigs had purchased a very large life insurance in case one should die and added a bonus policy for a situation where two pigs die. All that was left was to find a scape goat and who better than a wolf living among pigs. Piglet is the true murderer. He killed the pig brothers and cleaned the scene of any trace that he was there. When he saw Mr. Wolf walking nearby he called the police station and alerted the media. Mr. Wolf was found at the home of the third pig and with enough evidence to show he was at the other two sites. The media found wolf guilty before anyone knew a crime was committed and there was tremendous pressure to close the case quickly and bring peace back to town. Mr. Wolf has been cleared of all charges and I leave the stage for him, I have a pig hunt to take care of.”

“Mr. Wolf! Mr. Wolf! What do you have to say?”

“I would like to send a message to the town’s people and especially to the media, don’t judge a book by its cover, even if he is big and hairy with sharp teeth. A wolf is innocent until found guilty in a court of law, and even that is not always true.”

“What do you plane on doing now?”

“I’m going to bake a cake and, oh yeah, I’m going to Disneyworld!”

You were very creative! I had fun reading your report. I liked the idea of getting life insurance. It could be the truth. Why not? Today it is a very popular method among killers, unfortunatelly, to make money. They do that even with their own family members. So I wouldn't surprised if wolf is not guilty at all.

I really like your title and how you started the whole thing. It is engaging and interesting. I like that fact that you did it live at the scene. I like how it continued from sports, especially since I love sports. It should be called innocent until proven guilty, I think it should be guilty until proven not guilty. That is more of a realistic quote. I like your news report.

I enjoyed to read your story. One sentence at the end of the story was unforgettable “Don’t judge the book by its cover, even if he big and hairy with sharp teeth.” Nice.
