Perpetrator or Victim?

We interrupt the regularly scheduled program for breaking news that just came in. In the recent months we have been following the story of the murder of Brer Wolf who many in the community perceived him as a deceitful man. We have just found out that Mr. Wolf had been suffering a life threatening condition. Apparently the only way to survive his dibilitating condition was to consume the DNA of piglets. The defense attorney, Mr. Wiggles has released a statement saying, " My client is not guilty due to reasonable insanity. He was told he only had one month to live and took drastic measures." The prosecution in the case argues there is no justification for taking a life to save another. "Eye for an eye" is not how we as mammals live in our quiet community.

Many townspeople continue to be frustrated with the piglets for not taking their mothers warning serious, and being naive. "She was one tough cookie who knew that her children would be targeted", said HorseyMorse, a local resident of animalville. He went on to say, " her children took after her acting fearless but when faced with the wolf were not able to conquer." We do not know for how long Mr. Wolf was stalking the piglets but rumors have been going around this small town that he followed Big Pig one day with the intent to eat him but instead got into a physical altercation where Big Pig was able to break free. Some question if Mr. Wolf at that point had a personal vendetta against Big Pig and continued to pursue him out of personal anger to save his life.

Although these crimes are horrific, the circumstances were different. Mr. Wolf had to eat the piglets to survive and Runt had to kill in self defense. So as the case is presented to the jury, they are asked the question... how far would you go to save your life?

This is a very interesting twist, Christy. It is a question that has many different answers. Certainly one has to save one's life but at what cost, social cost? Is being a criminal a deterrant?
Interesting :-)

I like how you added your own little twist to the story of the pigs. Most that read this story are in favor of the innocent pigs but you included a defense for the Wolf. I think anyone would do anything possible to save their own life. No matter the circumstances, one's own life is always more important to them than a strangers.
